Grease
In the season 2006/2007 Måns played the lead role of Danny Zuko in the Swedish version in Malmö of the musical Grease.
Grease is teenage dreams, love and music! The love story between Sandy and Danny is unforgettable as are the songs "You're the one that I want" and "Summer Nights".
The year is 1959 and Danny is the "coolest" guy in the high-school gang T-Birds and they hang out with the tough girl gang Pink Ladies. During the summer, Sandy has had a romance with Danny, and when she later moves to his school, he doesn't want to know her because she doesn't fit in. Danny also has to live up to his reputation of not committing to anyone. Sandy is devastated but in the end she gets help from the girls in Pink Ladies and we see Sandy transform into the prettiest girl in school.
The role of Danny is played by Måns Zelmerlöw. By the way, he would have been with us already in Annie, but Idol got in the way. Then he also took the opportunity to win Let's dance. As Sandy, Nina Pressing appears, a well-known and experienced musical artist with previous leading roles in, among others, Rent, Miss Saigon and Evita. And then Eva Rydberg, not on stage this time but instead as a driven director – not least when it comes to the show numbers. Add to that a large ensemble in a fastidious selection and, of course, live music.
This will be a charming performance that cuts across all generations. With lots of laughter and lots of joy as always at Nöjesteatern in Malmö. With great retention, our Grease can be enjoyed by everyone.
