Melodifestivalen
Melodifestivalen is the Swedish preliminary contest for the Eurovision Song Contest. The selection of the title that will take part in the ESC for Sweden goes on for 6 weeks. Måns Zelmerlöw’s big dream since childhood was to take part in the Eurovision Song Contest, so he also entered the competition. But not only as an artist, also as a songwriter and he also took over the moderation of the show in some years.

2007
At Melodifestivalen 2007 Måns took part in the competition for the first time with his song "Cara Mia" in order to get the chance for Sweden to participate at the Eurovision Song Contest. He first presented his song in the third semifinals, which was held on February 17th, 2007 in Örnsköldsvik. He achieved first place in the semifinals and went straight to the final.
The final took place on March 10th, 2007 at the Stockholm Globen. Måns achieved the 3rd place with a total of 171 points.

2009
In 2009 Måns returned to the Melodifestivalen, that year with the song "Hope & Glory". He started in the second semifinals in Skellefteå on February 14th, 2009 and achieved a direct call into the final.
The final took place on March 14th at the Stockholm Globen. In the jury evaluation, Måns ended up at first place
with 96 points. After the points were awarded by the audience, he was in 4th place with 144 points.

2010
In 2010 Måns took over the position of the host alongside Christine Meltzer. In the first semifinals and the final, Dolph Lundgren was also part of the moderation team.

In the fourth semifinals, Christine Meltzer, Måns Zelmerlöw and others sang a medley of
Swedish Melodifestivalen classics, including e. g. "Nygammal Vals" by Lill Lindfors.
At the opening of the show Andra Chansen, Måns sang the song "A View To A Kill" by Duran Duran.
And in the final, all three hosts opened the show with Survivor’s "Eye Of The Tiger".

2013
Måns was also part of the Melodifestivalen 2013. That year, however, he participated as a songwriter and composer. Besides Robin Fredriksson and Mattias Larsson he wrote the song "Hello Goodbye" for Erik Segerstedt & Tone Damli. The song reached the Andra Chansen show and ended at 5th place.
2015
The Melodifestivalen 2015 was the third time as a participant and at the same time the most important Melodifestivalen for Måns Zelmerlöw. Because this year he won the final on March 14th, 2015 with his song "Heroes" and therefore he represented Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest.
With a total of 288 points, he won clearly and was also the first winner to achieve such
a large gap to the runners-up (with a 149 points gap). He also won the 4th semifinals before with a clear point gap as well.

2016
Keeping with tradition, the winner of the previous year also competed in the
next edition of the Melodifestivalen, and so did Måns. In the final on March 12th, 2016 he
sang his winning song "Heroes" in a modified form as Mellanakt. Instead of the stickman MP,
there is a real boy on stage next to Måns, and at the end they are accompanied
by a children’s choir.

2019
Måns was Mellanakt together with Dotter in the show Andra Chansen at the Melodifestival 2019 on March 2nd, 2019. It was the premiere
of the new single "Walk With Me", which is sung by both of them and at the same
time it was the first new single from Måns’ album "Time".

2020
In 2020 the "Hall of Fame" was introduced at the Melodifestivalen, in which special participants are honored.
As the winner of both the Melodifestivalen and the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, Måns is of course also one of the
honored. In the show Andra Chansen on February 29th, 2020 he was presented with the award and together with Lill Lindfors,
who is also represented in the Hall of Fame, he sang her song "Nygammal vals" from 1966.

2021
In the final of Melodifestival 2021 on March 13th, 2021, Måns took over the moderation of the show for the second time alongside Shima Niavarani and Christer Björkman. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Melodifestival took place this year without an audience and only at the Stockholm Globen.
Of course, the trio of moderators also performed some musical interludes. At the beginning of the show,
Shima and Måns sang a duet. In the Mellanakt, all three gave a review of Christers time at Melodifestivalen,
because this year he celebrated his farewell from the show. In the last Mellanakt Måns presented
his new single "Come Over Love".

2022
In the first show of the Swedish preliminary decision for the ESC on February 7th, the Melodifestivalen, 2022, on February 7th, 2022,
Oscar Zia sang the anthem to Skåneland in Mellanakt. Måns was mentioned in it and then he was shortly
connected via video to deliver a message to Oscar.

2024
The final of Melodifestivalen 2024 took place on 9 March in Stockholm. Björn Gustafsson tried in vain to impress the host Carina Berg in all of the shows, but in the final, he once again went all out. In the Mellanakt, he performs song number 13 together with the newly formed super boy band "Björnzone" and the song "Still The One". In addition to Björn, Måns Zelmerlöw, Eric Saade, Loa Falkman, Filip Berg, Adam Lundgren, Casper Jarnebrink, Victor Leksell, Boris René & Ulrik Munther are also part of the highly sought-after boy band.

2025
10 years after his victory with Heroes, Måns returns to Melodifestivalen 2025 and once again competes for the victory and the honour of representing Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest. In the fourth semi-final in Malmö on 22 February 2025, he will start with his new song "Revolution", which was written by him, David Lindgren Zacharias, Ola Svensson and Sebastian Atas.
